This large standing Ngoma Drum is almost 50 inches tall! It is from Zimbabwe (Southern Africa), and produces a deep rich sound. The famous late drum-master Olatunji played Ngoma drums for his performances. The drum is a symbol of status in villages and no important person would be without one prominently displayed in their home. The Ngoma drums are also used for supernatural rituals involving magic, spirits, and ancestors. The 2 conga drums in the photo are just to give you a perspective on its large size.
