Jammin' Jerry Z has been a professional musician for the past 40 years & has spent 24 of those years as a dance accompanist & drum teacher at Connecticut College & University of Utah. He has performed with groups of all kinds including Jazz, R&B, Salsa, Orchestral, Avant Garde, Rock, Reggae, Middle Eastern, African, etc. Jerry has sought to learn different styles of drumming from around the world, & can actually play authentic rhythms. An exciting collection of drums can be seen & heard at the Afro-Caribbean Drum Center, where Jerry leads groups of beginners in a hands-on experience, teaching them 3 different parts of each rhythm. The Drum Center will also host workshops with guest instructors for the the serious drummer who wishes to learn more about a specific genre.
